Lar Lubovitch’s Othello from San Francisco Ballet (2002)

Lar Lubovitch, who is a modern dance master, created a new interpretation of Shakespeare's classic tale, Othello. The dance is three acts long and hits upon the themes of passion, jealousy, ambition and betrayal, which are all prevalent in the play. Lar Lubovitch combined modern movement with classical components, and the dance is also accompanied by compelling music. Desmond Richardson performs as Othello, Yuan Yuan Tan is a stunning Desdemona, and Parrish Maynard is a convincingly treacherous Iago.
